Based in the UK, Black Eight is led by creative directors Philip Tibballs and Paul Hawkins.
The duo, who head-up a team of broadcast television specialists with extensive experience at the BBC, ITV, Sky and Netflix, now create TV content including documentaries and beautifully crafted promotional videos for business.
They and their industry-respected crew of producers, sound & lighting engineers, craft editors and dubbing mixers, create cinematic corporate video, multi-camera sound and lighting at business conferences and impactful digital content for the likes of Jaguar Land Rover, Sony PlayStation, Nissan, Gazprom and Heineken.
As established storytellers, the team continue to create ground-breaking documentaries. Recent projects include The Pembrokeshire Murders (2021, ITV) and The Matchstick Man (2025, BBC).

Philip Tibballs
Philip is a producer, director and documentary-maker who has worked on some of the UK’s biggest television shows. From producing Match of the Day to directing content for prime-time BBC One flagships like The One Show. Philip also produces and directs documentaries.
Paul Hawkins
Paul is one of the UK’s leading Directors of Photography. A craft cameraman and BAFTA nominee, Paul has filmed some of the biggest names in the business. From documentaries with rock legends Guns N’ Roses, to global sporting events like the UEFA Champions League Final.
